The City Inspector’s office responds to questions from contractors and the general public regarding building, HVAC, plumbing and electrical code interpretations, lot splits, floodplain, special use permits, zoning requests, and variances. The staff ensures that building construction, and zoning policies and regulations are enforced by performing follow-up field inspections. The City Inspector reviews all commercial and industrial blueprints for code compliance, monitors residential and commercial building activity and permit issuance to ensure quality control. The City Inspector also serves as the Flood Plain Administrator for the City.
