Annual Small Business Roundtable Answers Questions
Chamber Small Businesses were invited to participate in a Small Business Roundtable at the Chamber where they could ask questions to industry experts.
Robbie Young focused on the type of business to start up whether that be a LLC, sole proprietorship, or an S corp, saying it depended on the amount of liability protection needed. Human Resources expert Sarah Sheridan explained how their business responded to the recent employment payment changes. When employees go on work trips, they are paid for their time away, even sleeping. Holden Smith talked about insurance and how many insurance companies are saying that roofs are no longer covered in certain policies. He challenged listeners to be proactive and know what is in their policies before an issue arises. Amy Jumper encouraged small businesses to apply for SBA loans even though they can sometimes be a hassle to apply for. She said that SBA loans allow financial institutions the ability to approve loans they might not be able to normally approve on their own. Finally Laura Miller explained the services Arkansas Small Business & Technology Development Center provides including help knowing your money, market, and management when starting a new business.
