The Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a generous $50,000 gift from the Samuel Family in memory of Mr. Alvin Samuel.

The Chamber has embarked on the almost complete rehabilitation of a nearly 10,000-square-foot office space in the historic Kimbrough Building in Downtown Paragould. Built more than 100 years ago, the building sat vacant for nearly 30 years before this revitalization project began. Originally a cornerstone of the business community, the Kimbrough Dry Goods Store operated in this space until 1960. As the Greene County Genealogical and Historical Society noted, “Families came from all over Northeast Arkansas to do business at Kimbrough’s Dry Goods. The store became a cornerstone of the business community.” Now, more than a century later, the building is once again being restored to serve as the cornerstone for the future of business in Paragould.

“This gift from the Samuel Family not only honors the remarkable legacy of Alvin Samuel but also represents the spirit of community leadership that has always guided Paragould’s growth.” said Amy Adams, Chamber Chair.

With more than 700 members, the Chamber’s new home will provide three modern meeting spaces for members and community use. This facility stands as a testament to the shared commitment of local leaders, businesses, and families to invest in Paragould’s future.

Thank You, Samuel Family!

“We are honored to carry forward the vision of past leaders like Mr. Samuel. His dedication to Paragould inspires our mission today, and this building will stand as a place where his passion for community advancement lives on.” said Allison Hestand, Chamber CEO.

“Alvin Samuel was a devoted supporter and former Chairman of the Chamber. He believed strongly in its mission of building Paragould. His efforts in recruiting companies like L A Darling and Monroe strengthened our community. We are grateful for this acknowledgment and proud to support the new Chamber Headquarters.” said the family of Alvin Samuel.

The Paragould Chamber Building Campaign is currently 50% complete, with funding opportunities still available. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Allison Hestand at the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce.
