Greenbrier has been a member of the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce for 15+ years! The Greenbrier Companies is a leading supplier of transportation equipment and services to the railroad industry. Greenbrier manufactures new freight railcars and marine barges. In addition to manufacturing, we provide railcar leasing, management, and repair services and produces wheels and other railcar parts. At our facilities in Paragould, Marmaduke, and Kennett, we manufacture covered hopper and tank railcars as well as wheels, axles, parts, and assemblies for railcars. Greenbrier was established in Paragould in 1995 and have expanded that location from one welding/ manufacturing department to two welding/ manufacturing buildings, two paint application facilities, a fabrication department, a wheel & axle facility, and a parts foundry. We began the same way in Marmaduke, Arkansas in 1999 and have expanded that location to two welding/ manufacturing buildings, two paint application facilities, a head press fabrication shop, and a repair facility. In total, Greenbrier operates 12 manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Romania, and Turkey in addition to building marine barges at their Portland, Oregon manufacturing facility. Greenbrier employs approximately 950 people in their manufacturing facilities located in Paragould and Marmaduke, Arkansas and Kennett, Missouri. Greenbrier prides themselves on being active members in the community and fostering a culture of civic engagement among employees. Greenbrier participates in the Greene County Community Fund, Make-A-Wish Mid-South chapter, Habitat for Humanity, and partner with local school districts and food banks. Employees hold board positions with American Welding Society, Northeast Arkansas Workforce Development Board, and Greene County Industrial Training Center. Greenbrier also supports local chamber events and activities such as Partners in Education, Shop Paragould First Campaign, Leadership Paragould, and the Chamber Showcase. Employees are members of the Rotary Club of Paragould and both local and national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) organizations. Greenbrier’s goal is to maintain their leadership in railcar manufacturing in North America and the employer of choice for our area.
