Job Titles: Director of Workforce Development (Full Time) and Makerspace Admin (Part Time)
Location: Paragould, Arkansas
Overview:
The Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Economic Development Corporation of Paragould, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the roles of Director of Workforce Development (Full Time) and Makerspace Admin (Part Time). This position is made possible by a Delta Regional Authority Grant aimed at fostering economic growth and innovation within the region.
Director of Workforce Development (Full Time):
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the local workforce, aligning with the needs of employers and industries within the region.
Collaborate with educational institutions, vocational training centers, and other stakeholders to identify skill gaps and design programs to address them.
Facilitate partnerships between businesses and workforce development resources to support recruitment, training, and retention initiatives.
Conduct research on labor market trends, employment patterns, and emerging industries to inform workforce development efforts.
Organize job fairs, workshops, and training sessions to connect job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources.
Run Greene County Workforce Pipeline Cohorts at the GIN.
Facilitate and grow the Youth Leadership Program.
Evaluate the effectiveness of workforce development programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
Serve as a liaison between employers, government agencies, and community organizations to coordinate workforce development efforts and maximize resources.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, human resources, or a related field preferred but not a requirement
Previous experience in workforce development, talent management, or related fields.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build partnerships and drive collaborative efforts.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of labor market trends, training methodologies, and workforce development best practices.
Makerspace Admin (Part Time):
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Makerspace facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for users.
Manage equipment and supplies inventory, including procurement, maintenance, and organization.
Develop and implement programming to promote creative exploration, innovation, and skill development among Makerspace users.
Provide guidance and support to individuals utilizing Makerspace resources, including equipment usage, project development, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with local schools, community groups, and businesses to expand Makerspace outreach and engagement initiatives.
Maintain records of Makerspace usage, attendance, and user feedback to track impact and inform future planning.
Stay informed about emerging technologies, maker trends, and best practices in makerspace management to enhance program offerings and user experiences.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in makerspace management, fabrication, or related fields.
Proficiency with maker technologies, tools, and equipment.
Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for fostering innovation and creativity.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
