On Friday, October 26th from 6:30PM to 10:00PM, Crowley's Ridge State Park will once again be the go-to destination for Halloween fun with Ghosts, Legends, and the Unexplained, The event will feature a free trail of treats on Lake Ponder Trail with candy, carnival-style games, kid's crafts, Halloween coloring activities, and much more. Candy will be donated by local businesses. Lake Ponder Tailer is stroller and handicapped accessible, so bring the whole family. The famous hayride through the haunted forest is sure togive you an ex-fear-ience you will never forget! The hayride will cost $4.00 for ages 6 and above and $2.00 for ages 2-5 Ages 2 and under are free! The hayride will feature the ever popular zombies as well as ghostly visitors from the past. Sharp-eyed visitors might even spot the Wildman of Crowley's Ridge while on the hayride. All attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight and a bag for candy. Concessions and souvenirs will be available for purchase at the CCC Pavilion. The event is cash only- checks and credit cards will not be accepted. Ticket sales for the kid's crafts and haunted hayride will end at 8:30PM. Please remember this when planning your evening. The trail of treats will end at 9:00PM, the haunted hayride will end at 10:00PM, and parking for the event will be in the open field near Walcott Lake.
This year the park will also be hosting a "Ghouls" and Boys costume contest. We encourage everyone, no matter the age, to join in on the fun. The age categories are:
Ages up to 2: Contest begins at 6:30 with registration opening at 6:15
Ages 3-5: Contest begins at 7:00 with registration opening at 6:30
Ages 6-10: Contest begins at 7:30 with registration opening at 7:00
Ages 11-16: Contest begins at 8:00 with registration opening at 7:30
Ages 16+: Contest begins at 8:30 with registration opening at 8:00
All costumes must be family friendly and trophies and prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category. Please keep in mind that being on time is very important for this contest as there are a limited amount of spots for each category. Contestants will be judged on creativity, originality, and presentation so come prepared to show us what you got!

Crowley's Ridge State Park is located on Highway 168N in Walcott; from Paragould, travel west on Highway 412, and from Jonesboro travel north on Highway 141 to reach the park.
